If Pure Metal is your game, then STORMHAMMER is the name! The nucleus of the band has been on a metal quest since 1993, but these last four years now the five-piece group from South Germany have started to really seriously flex their impressive muscles as STORMHAMMER.

STORMHAMMER perform an uncompromising metal mixture of hyper-melodic, euro-style power metal, blended with US-metal and served with a pinch of NWOBHM.

Their progress and popularity did not go unnoticed, and they were subsequently signed to the CENTURY MEDIA label. The superb quality of their first two album releases "Cold Desert Moon", released in 2000, and "Fire Ball", which appeared in 2001, earned them critical acclaim from the media, as well as a loyal following across Europe.

In 2002, in support of the second album STORMHAMMER toured in Italy, Austria and Hungary with BLIND GUARDIAN, and also played the BLIND GUARDIAN Open Air Festival in Coburg in June of 2003, sharing the stage with SOILWORK, GRAVE DIGGER, BRAINSTORM, NAPALM DEATH, PRIMAL FEAR, and of course with BLIND GUARDIAN themselves.

Later that year, after having recruited new drummer CHRIS WIDMANN, they started writing and pre-producing their 3rd album, to be called LORD OF DARKNESS. Whereas they had recorded their previous albums with RUDY KRONENBERGER at the CROWNHILL studios in Düsseldorf, this time around they decided to produce the new album themselves, in their own studio in Munich.

Bassist and mouthpiece HORST TESSMANN himself negotiated a new agreement with MAUSOLEUM RECORDS for the release of LORD OF DARKNESS. We, at MAUSOLEUM think that this is one hell of a powerful and exciting album by an experienced and mature band, and we’re happy and proud to have them on our label.
