Drummer/vocalist JOHANNE JAMES, who is also the drummer
for THRESHOLD, founded KYRBGRINDER. With THRESHOLD he
picked up the "drummer of the year award"
from the Classic Rock Society in 2004/5, before being
honoured with the same award again, in 2006/7, this
time both for his work with THRESHOLD and his own band.
KYRBGRINDER furthermore features DAVE DART (also known
as Rassy, short for Rasputin), the guitarist extraordinaire
who's been playing his axe for 13 hours a day ever since
quitting school at when he was 13 years old, and bass
player EDDIE VENDETTA, hailing from Sicily, completes
the trio's line-up.
KYRBGRINDER have enjoyed an incredible 2006, having
played over 200 gigs, with appearances at The Classic
Rock Society in Rotherham, the Bulldog Bash Bikers Festival,
and the Bloodstock Festival, where they were given great
reviews on the festival's forum.
They have now recently inked a deal with MAUSOLEUM
Records, as a result of which their debut album DEFIANCE
will soon be released, prior to their April/May UK tour.
They will be playing at 30 venues nation-wide, before
embarking on a European tour, later this year, in support
of Dead Soul Child.
KYRBGRINDER crosses genres of heavy rock with incredible
precision. Some may find the haunting metallic guitars
interwoven with incredible drum patterns in the track
'Monster' from their forth coming debut album DEFIANCE
to be their favourite, others may find the hard metal
edge of title track 'Defiance' a challenge, while the
melody and thought provoking lyrics of 'Welcome To Pain'
are just as outstanding. DEFIANCE will certainly please
THRESHOLD fans, as well as aficionados of harder-edged
Rock.
