| GUST OF ANGER
was formed in 1997 from a reunion of remains of various
Latvian Heavy Metal bands such as HUSQUARN, MORAL FREE
and MORTMAIN. Initially the band was called ULTRA, and
recorded a demo, which mainly enjoyed distribution throughout
Russia and the Baltic states. On advise of the record
producer the band soon after also decided to change names,
and adopted the more appropriate moniker GUST OF ANGER.
GUST OF ANGER are immensely popular in the Baltic region,
having performed at concerts and festivals with the
likes of ZZ TOP, STATUS QUO, SCORPIONS, CANNIBAL CORPSE,
OVERKILL, ANNIHALATOR and PRO-PAIN.
Word of mouth spread to the Scandinavian region, and
the infamous DANIEL BERGSTRAND, renown for his work
with – among others - STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, MESHUGAH
and STUCK MOJO, agreed to produce their debut album:
NATURAL HOSTILITY at his DUG-OUT studios in Sweden.
Drummer PER JOHANNSON, of CRAWLEY, LOST SOULS and IN
RAGE also contributed to the recordings.
GUST OF ANGER play aggressive hardcore-ish metal with
socially engaged lyrics, attacking the injustice and
hypocrisy of our modern society.
Recently GUST OF ANGER have been confirming their status
as a relentlessly energetic live band, playing a lot
in MOSCOW, in clubs like the R-CLUB and TOCHKA, often
alongside Local Russian acts such as HOSTILE BREED.
We hope that with the release of NATURAL HOSITLITY the
band will soon be romping on concert stages across Western
Europe also.
