The history of Electric Earth started back in 2001,
in Sweden, when Peter Gottlieb - vocals and guitar (formerly
with UK outfit Psycle), Tommy Scalisi - lead guitar
(Gooseflesh, Rat Salad), Lyris Karlsson - bass (Rat
Salad) and Lars Berger - drums (Gooseflesh, Rising)
discovered that they shared the same undying passion
for music and an unyielding desire to share this obsession
with other people. Individually the four inspired musicians
already possessed quite some experience in writing and
playing music, and together they now set out to create
some original sounds, albeit without disavowing their
influences such as Kiss, Black Sabbath, Stone Temple
Pilots and Soundgarden.
The expert musicianship, and fine song writing on their
2005 debut album "Organic Songs - Volume One",
quickly established them as serious contenders in the
international Rock arena. The video clip for "Platonic,"
the opening track on the album, furthermore established
them as visually interesting.
In 2006 Lars decided to quit the band in pursuit of
other interests. He was replaced by Draken another highly
qualified drummer, who had previously played with Sabbra
Cadabra & Roarkit.
That same year Electric Earth also completed their
second album, "Vol II - Words Unspoken", for
which the tracks were cut at Bohus, a renowned Swedish
studio where everyone from ABBA and Status Quo to more
cutting-edge metal outfits like Evergrey have recorded.
Electric Earth produced their second effort by themselves,
assisted by Roberto Laghi (Mustasch, Hardcore Superstar,
LOK, Freak Kitchen, Transport League and The Awesome
Machine).
On stage Electric Earth reveal the presence of an energy
and personality that sets them apart from other bands,
and make them an outstanding live act. A reputation
well deserved, which they recently confirmed when playing
the Metaltown Festival, holding their own next to, bands
like Tool, Danko Jones, Opeth and Soilwork. The band
of course plans to support the release of the new album
with extended touring.
"Vol II - Words Unspoken" is an inspired,
original, and muscular Rock album with a mighty powerful
groove, which will be unleashed May 28, 2007, packaged
in a handsome digipak.
