COURAGEOUS play an unrivaled hybrid of modern and traditional metal, which they perform with bone-crunching intensity, though without ever-sacrificing the structure or the melody of their songs. The quintet from Frankfurt (Germany), released their self-financed debut album, LISTEN, in 1999, followed by REMEMBER in 2002. In the meantime new musical trends mushroomed and vanished almost as rapidly - stars were born, dimmed, died and disappeared, while metal flourished, nearly expired and reincarnated. COURAGEOUS wrote, rehearsed, and played on. So far they had enjoyed tons of praise being bestowed upon them, so in 2004, on the eve of the release of the third album, the expectancies were very high. INERTIA, (their third album, but the first one to enjoy organized international distribution), was released November 15th, and COURAGEOUS did not disappoint. INERTIA proved to be the confirmation of the band’s distinctive talent. The album took you on an aural rollercoaster ride through the abyss of the human soul by way of unimaginable hell, and all the way to the end of the loop, catapulting one into the infinite nightmare of fictional reality. Or, simply phrased, without the bullshit: you were definitely not the same after listening to the damn album! The international media unanimously gave the album a resounding “thumbs up”, with POWERPLAY (UK) even hailing the band as being “The Future Of Heavy Metal”.

And now comes the follow-up: DOWNFALL OF HONESTY, recorded at BLACK SOLARIS studios in Frankfurt, and produced by UWE LULIS and COURAGEOUS. With DOWNFALL the band take a crucial step forward and deliver a more accessible album than the previous one. Each of the eleven songs is memorable because of its structure, or melody, or because of certain riffs, and so seeks and finds a permanent niche in one’s mind. COURAGEOUS successfully blend unprecedented brutal force with multi-layered vocals and strong hook-lines. Unique is an understatement! DOWNFALL OF HONESTY is the album that should propel COURAGEOUS into the A category.

Throughout the years COURAGEOUS constantly stayed on course and were praised and rewarded for this exceptional show of integrity by both fans and media. On stage the band are visually prominent, and musically powerful, a formidable machine driven by the crushing rhythm section that supports the innovative soloing, and striking vocals. This professionalism already led to a coveted spot on the BANG YOUR HEAD Festival in 2001. In 2005, COURAGEOUS widely toured Germany, with forays into foreign territories as special guests of VICIOUS RUMORS. In support of DOWNFALL OF HONESTY the band will play selected concerts on their own, and also, join, first BEYOND FEAR (TIM RIPPER OWENS), and later VICIOUS RUMORS again, on extensive European tours.
